Hi @hoipolloi !

I started with Constalltions and when I wore my first 40mm watch (and later 42 as the OP Speedie)
it was a total different thing for me. Since than I feel 'naked' with dress watches.

What is your wear feeling about the Speedmaster? 馃槈

Really? I still think 40mm+ watches dont go well with a suit. I do however notice that I tend to wear bigger watches when dressing casual.

32-34mm on leather no thicker than 8mm for me. Even my 34mm Rolex鈥檚 are chunky under a cuff. If I have to keep wiggling my wrist to keep the watch from hanging up on the cuff, it鈥檚 too big.

People still wear suits? To work in real offices? Shocking.

40mm is perfect for Zoom.

I had to go into the office for an event about a month ago- and actually wore a suit for the first time since February. Wore a 60鈥檚 Longines (as opposed to my home office desk divers) and remembered why I love watches like that- didn鈥檛 even feel it.

Its the first batch of of speed master with cal 861..you will find resemblance of the case with case of 321 ..later omega have changed the case for 861 I am guessing its from 1969-70 era..

I'm no expert, but since I own a 68 Transitional with the 861 movement and applied Omega logo, I'd say the OP's watch is in the "second batch" of Speedys with the 861 movement.

My guess is the OP's watch is an early 69 Speedy (the ones that came with the DON bezel and painted Omega logo).

To be honest, I hate suits. I try to avoid them as much as possible... Sadly I do have to wear them sometimes to court. It's a old mens culture. Terrible...

ftfy

That's the first non- AML dial but still has a DON bezel so it's probably a 145.022-69

Is this one of Spacefruit's cast-offs? It's a beautiful piece, maybe a bit too well preserved; it needs to get out more, get some "honesty".
