After years of lusting and want, I saved up for my first speedy and mechical chronograph for that matter.

Juat though I would introduce myself and show my speedy before it gets sent out for service and love. So hello everyone, My name is Nick and I am a young industrial designer.

My requirements where simple. I wanted pre-moon. I goofed up big about 3 years ago not buying a straight lug pre-moon for a stupid cheap price but hey, school is more important!

Without further delay here it is, a 145.012 -67 SP .321 cal speedmaster. 26 million movement number It's lived a life and has quite a cratered bezel (it is a remnant of a once DO90) which I like in its patina glory

The crown is incorrect and the large chrono second hand is wrong.

    When I am sending out this is what I have decided to do and maybe I am wrong so please advise;

-Clean and service movement. (It works well)
    -Case back Gasket
    -New omega pushers
    -New omega crown
-Polish Crystal, replace if not original omega
-Source a replacement chrono hand (problem is I do not want bright new lume)
-and general case cleaning but not a polish. Maybe just with cloth?

    Welcome Nick.

I have a very similar condition 67 145.012. I think your list of work is much like I will do with mine. If you're in the UK I would suggest STS for the service.

My biggest issue is around the dial lume which seems to have mostly disappeared. It's hard to tell but you may have the same issue?

Looks like a nice and sharp case! I am not in uk (USA, but currently in China as a expat) and I have a guy in mind who I have been in contact with for service once I return home. My service quote was very fair

Have you got a strap for it? Mine came with the original 1039, but I'm thinking of having it on brown leather most of the time.

I do! I am not a fan of metal bracelets. Was thinking of a natural color vegi tan leather strap.

I am a furniture designer and the factory that does the upholstery, I have pretty much unlimited access to scraps of every type of leather possible. So I want to make a few straps as well

Great start Nick. I bet that your hunger for straight lugged Speedmasters is about to get significantly stronger. It's a slippery slope...

The watch is back from the watch maker. Overall very happy on how it came out.

Thats just a bad reflection on the bezel are the 90

Thoughts? It's now on a brown rally strap

In comparison to the original photo posted above. But that may be overexposure.

Odd, the bezel was clearly removed and wasn't lined up properly. Not even close! That alone isn't a big deal at all, but might be indicative of some shoddy work in its past?

So yeah, add "realign bezel" to your list :)

The lumes haven't been touched. The original pic was overexposed, the hour and min and small recorder hands are original, only the chrono hand was replaced

Yeah, the bezel wasn't lined up, I didn't even notice that when I was buying it. It has a few service markings so who knows. The screw heads are clean looking tho
