Ok so there was a thread a couple of weeks ago that asked how many Omegas you own. At that time it was one. Now it’s 4, two are vintage and two are new. For some reason I really loved this watch. After drooling over it for a couple weeks I pulled the trigger. I’m partial to dive watches with my every day and go to diver being my Sea Dweller. I love everything about the Sea Dweller but the date. I do not like a date on a diver. If I’m down in the water long enough to check the date, call me toast because I’m done for. The more I looked at this Seamaster, the more I loved the simplicity. I love the color of the aged lume. I know the polished bracelet will scratch but that’s all part of the character and the story. Plus you can always buy a leather band which looks awesome on this watch too. I LOVE the ability to change time zones on the hour hand. In short, I had to have this watch. I’m speaking only on my tastes, but this watch is darn sexy.
Thanks. I got it as my reward for competing in the Ironman World Championships in Kona In October. I’m retiring from racing that distance after that race. My goal is to not wear it until the day after the race when my daughter and I will go on a dive. I really don’t see how I’m going to be able to keep it off my wrist until then.
Flippin heck what a story! Stay strong - there's some irony in there! Make sure you post pics after the dive.
Absolutely. Maybe even an in-water action shot! I’m not even taking the case tag, hang tag and bracelet tape off until the day of the dive. Maybe I will have iron will enough to see it through... irony intended
You haven’t competed in in yet so don’t ..to quote an English phrase ...count ya chickens just yet haha
I got mine in late 2015. It's been on my wrist as often as not since then, it's a terrific watch for travel, and it wears well with everything.
Congratulations! Great watch. I’ve had mine since late-summer, 2015. I’ve only worn it in rotation with others, but it always keeps excellent time and looks good.
I’m sort of amazed at an mechanical watch’s ability to keep time. I’m running the Seamaster just to check and it’s -2 seconds per day. It will go on my wrist in October to celebrate my retirement from racing. I stare at it everyday though.
