Thanks to some clarifications I got from you guys I bought my first vintage Omega diver :)
The watch looks to be untouched and in great condition!
I left the watch with my local watchmaker today for a cleaning and check, but I got to take a couple of pictures yesterday.
I just have one question; What is this thing worth in todays marked?
I know what I gave, but I cant be sure if it was a good deal or not because I didnt find many comparable examples.

If youre interested I can take more photos as soon as the watch is back from service :)

It’s quite a rare watch but not hugely valuable. I love them I think it’s a great watch. There is one on chronos for £3000, I’ve seen them going for anything from £2500-£3500.

But it’s what it’s worth to you that’s important.

Nice watch. I always have my eye out for them on the market. As you found out there arent many of these being sold so its hard to know. I think there is one on ebay coming out of mexico that you could have a look at? I think the above is spot on depending on condition.

    @Mr Blond Thanks!
Im was a bit sceptical until I saw one of these "live". Now Im mesmerized :)

Here is some additional information that might help:
As you see the movement is clean with a 31 4** *** serial number (ca. 1970)
The case is unpolished with little tear and wear.
The bracelet (1170) and end links (631) are original to the watch
The caseback are in great condition

That looks to be in amazing condition, many have faded dials and damaged bezels

I have mine with an all black bezel at the moment which is a little less bright than the red ;) However my dial was in really poor shape and its fitted with a genuine replacement one which actually looks fine.

Yeah, I saw that listing yesterday and are cuorius to see what it will go for.
The condition is questionable and the seller is new to Ebay it seems, but Im sure Ill get a pointer :)

The Banana version is common, the all grey dial "poppy" is much rarer and the rarest is the SHOM with an all black dial.

    Thanks!
Did some models with the same ref. number come with an all black bezel? Nice watch by the way :)

The black bezel is from a 120m 166.091 I think, I had the bezel of the Banana off for cleaning and I just happened to have the black bezel on the table at the same time and thought why not see how that looks. Surprisingly the fitment of both are exactly the same. I think it gives the watch a slightly different feel without losing too much of the original character.

sadly my Poppy doesnt get enough wrist time...they are both very hard to find in nice condition, and way under appreciated in the market. Your Banana looks great.

One of the first vintage omega I bought. The dial is not in the best condition but it is original to the watch. Plenty of replacement dials available but I like my watches warts and all.

    Nice
Mine says 200m on dial (banana)

Are they all correct dials? Both with and without 200m?

I believe the ones with 200 on the dial are earlier models, but both are correct.
I have seen a dial on eBay with 100 written on it. Not sure the story behind that one though.

You will get your chance! It needs to stay with me a bit longer, but my collection is in constant change :)
I have never sold anything outside Norway, but I have to take the leap one time or another.

Ive seen three different dials original to the watch, the one I have with "200" in a bold font (the earliest), one with "200" in the same font as "Seamaster" and the one you have.

I just recently purchased one of these as well, great watch!

However, I am desperately looking for the 631 end links. Anyone got an idea where I can purchase them?

I bought the watch without a bracelet; and found an 1170 last week. It came with 631 end links, but they were 20mm in width! The watch needs 22mm however. Does someone have an idea how that could be the case? 631 with 20mm width?

Yours were filed to fit a 20mm lug

I've a few new old stock pairs of 631 from my father in law.... Let me know..
