Hello all omegaforums’ members.
I want to share another watch in my collection.

It was Omega seamaster ref.2848-1 with uncommon original black dial, serial no. 14,66x,xxx (around 1955) and powered by caliber 491.

In my opinion,
- The dial was original with patina spots spreading around this dial
- The font of “OMEGA , AUTOMATIC, Seamaster,” was correct and original
- The hours markers were original with mixing with “Arabic number at 6/9/12 o’clock"
- The luminous in hour-markers was intact and original
- The hands were original
- The caseback was original (I discovered only clear caseback with “seamaster” and “waterproof” in ref.2848)
- Movement caliber is 491 with serial number 14,66x,xxx dating this watch to 1955.
(The correct caliber for ref.2848 can be both 490 and 491)

I noticed later that the crown of my watch maybe aftermarket so I changed it into this originalnaiad clover crown”. From my research this “naiad crown” can be original used in caliber 491 too. I found the naiad crown used in reference 2848-1 too (https://www.ebay.com/itm/362728931605)

From my research, we use same case/movement among ref. 2848 and 2846-2848, it can be used interchangeable.

Nevertheless I believe that in ref.2848 alone (not 2846-2848), I found only 2848-1 and only sub-second version, while in ref.2846-2848 we can found both center-second (more common) and sub-second.

I gather all of ref.2848-1 (also 2846-2848) with original black with sub-second together.
The one from eBay doesn’t sell yet, maybe someone can buy it. Haha.

Finally, in ref.2848 we can found “seamaster” below “automatic” ,and vise versa. Both of this version can be correct.

My wrist shot:

Thanks for sharing your opinion and your pictures too.
Kindly regards,
Teerapat

I don't know how you do it, and I know you have a few keyboard warrior enemies on here (presumably because of jealousy) but you do seem to find a steady stream of wonderful watches. Bravo.

What is it with the keyboard enemies? 😕 I envy Teerapat for his superb collection which puts mine in the shade, but I respect any collector who has done his research thoroughly, bought well and presents us with excellent pictures and usually an interesting story. Keep them coming!

Thanks a lot @gbesq and @jaguar11.😀
Thanks @padders and @Edward53 for your comment. 😁

It would be an honor for me if I can review, then share my knowledge.

Though , I need experts in this forums to make it correct when there's something wrong in my post.
Don’t hesitate to do it in my post.
