Hey guys, sharing my first ever Longines. I was in Private Eyes Tokyo to pick up a UG Tri-Compax I pre-purchased and as I was looking around, this caught my eyes and I ended up buying it too. From the little I read here in the forum and some sites, all I know I got it is that it was a watch made for the 72 Munich Olympics. I'm just confused as the certificate featured in this post https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-longines-conquest.30684/#post-345130 states that the base is a Valjoux 72 when all other info say Val 236. Hoping you guys can clarify. Thanks! Here are the pics:
Here is some information regarding the Valjoux 23 and its derivatives: http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Valjoux_23 In this instance, I would trust the baseplate marking rather than the extract/certificate from Longines.
