Dear all members,

I would like to share the uncommon dial variation appeared on an old Omega’s catalog from early 60’s.
Sometimes, we might call it as the “mattress” pattern.

This unique dial pattern was completely reviewed in “Seamaster” model by @PlainVanilla
https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-seamaster-a-guide-to-special-dials.151225/

However, my research found more - at least five examples in the Seamaster Deville line (ref. 165.020), one example in ref. 14749 and one example in ref. 14735.

I previously named it as the “python snake skin” in a thread regarding my 14777.
It was “rhombus” shape with “convex” surface.

In the past, I left the question why I could not find any example in “constellation” model (except mine)?

How lucky I am !!

I just find another constellation with the same mattress dial.
It was the reference 14777, used the caliber 561. The movement number was 20,990,xxx.

In my opinion, the steel case quite sharp with light polished in the past. The thin decagonal crown was correct.
The hands need to be changed as they should be the non-luminous version. I already ordered it.

More close up pictures:

Normally, we expect the movement number was between 18,xxx,xxx and 19,xxx,xxx for this reference.

My watch came with the movement number as high as 20,990,xxx.
However, it might be one of the last examples in ref.14777?

Generally, the steel case in ref.14777 would come with all steel hardware.
Nevertheless, I found this complete set using steel case with gold hardware in the same reference too.

Thank you to everyone for your comments and likes.
If anyone got this dial style in any model of Omega, please share yours.

Best regards,
Teerapat

It is a rare dial iteration for sure - huge congrats on your find.
But I can´t help, this "mattress" dial somehow reminds me of a car roof after a heavy hailstorm - so why don´t we call it "hailstorm-roof"-pattern 😉 just joking...

" Lucky " has nothing to do with it.... You invest an enormous amount of time to find these and enrich others here with your knowledge as well. Excellent efforts !

Congrats!

I used to call these fish scale dials, but after seeing your close ups, mattress makes more sense, actually maybe even an xxx dial, all I see are X's in your later photos 😀 An interesting low lighting effect of the dial for sure

Finally, I could find the yellow gold “dauphine” hands which could be the correct one.😉
