My new favorite watch: 3861 Moonwatch has arrived

So being an Omega enthusiast for years now, finally purchased my first Speedy. Always been intrigued since seeing my Mom’s Omega on a leather strap back in the 80’s. Finally have a chance to join the Speedmaster club after years of browsing the thread.

Fast forward to today…I’ve never pulled the trigger till the new movement, all brushed bracelet, etc. Would have been a more difficult decision for me if the brushed links bracelet came with the Sapphire version. Anti-magnetism, hesalite, brushed links, and all, finally have one to add to my small collection. First was an 8500 41.5 blue face back in 2015. Then the moonwatch, last week. I couldn’t control myself, purchased white dialed SMP 300m and Aqua Terra with orange stitched rubber strap. Instead of a ridicously priced Sub, I ended up with three new timepieces all with factory warranties. I think I’m good for a while.

I find this bracelet setup as comfortable or even more ever so slightly than my DJ41 on Jubilee due to the lighter weight.

Looks good. Will look even better when you take all that plastic off the bracelet. 😉

that is (arguably) overall the best speedmaster ever made imho. i have 1861, not this one yet. i begin to think if 3861 is superior to 321 or 321B or is it too early to say against the legacy?

If it is working as it should, it should keep better time.

Looks amazing, congrats! While I don’t have one yet, I agree that the current 3861 Moonwatch turned out great (and plan to buy one in the near future as well 😀)

Thank you guys. Do you guys wear your moonwatches more on the loose side? My wrists expands so much as I have it sized very loose when cold.

Yes - it's loose from mid-afternoon through the evening and then a bit snug when I wake up
through about noon....I love the lightness and feel of the new bracelet but really, really would
have loved an "on the fly" adjustable clasp or easy-link type feature. My new Seamaster 300m has a superb
adjustable bracelet - it's the only thing I would have wished for on my new Speedy...

So mine is hella loose lol.. Probably will take off a link or so. Like the clasp protector on yours.

Thanks for the bonus pics 😀 For the SMP, I have no problem sizing mine. Don't even have to use the micro adjustments.
