I just got this last night from my wife as a slightly-ahead-of-my-60th-birthday present (and just two weeks before our first grandchild). My very first Rolex. I have other beautiful pieces, some more costly, but I'd be lying if I didn't say there's something special about getting a Rolex. I love all the Rolex models, of course, but (assuming I never get my hands on a Daytona) this is the model, even more than the other more popular lines, that really speaks to me. Classic, clean, beautiful (and the photos don't do it justice). Add to that a lovely inscription by my wife (hey, it will hurt resale, but I ain't reselling this one) and I couldn't be happier.
The white OP39 is actually one of my favorite current Rolex models. It delivers everything the classic Rolex models promised. I don't like much from the current models. Partly due to design, partly due to instagrammarketmania. But they (and Tudor) make awesome bracelets.
