thanks all. i never thought I would like a chrono, but I always knew i'd get a speedy pro at some point, given its history. I also thought it would be too big, and while it is larger than the rest of my watches, I think it is just OK. thanks to George for his great help and service on this purchase
I think I need to investigate a better quality strap, and no doubt a 1170 bracelet at some point..... Very happy I went with the brown strap. yep!
Never even noticed the strap, you could wear that beauty on a piece of string, would still look great. Enjoy

I've got an OEM Omega brown strap and deployant and its pretty ordinary. Then Dennis sent me a brown strap he got from someone and its brilliant, one of the best I've ever had.
