Hi all, new member here.

My dad keeps going on about how he purchased a beautiful new watch for my mum (in 1988) and how she never wears it. Mum says she keeps it packed away because she doesnt want to break it. Its
Not working atm - flat battery I guess...

Anyway, they want to know what its worth these days, so i’ve been trying to find out. I couldnt find anything that looked like it online yet, so thought i’d ask here.

Also, were located in Melbourne, Australia - does anyone know a good place to have it checked and the battery replaced?

Please, let me know what you think 😀

Most watch places can do the battery - it's not hard to do. Just warn them not to scratch the coil.

A proper service could be done by Vintage Time Australia, Swatch/Omega, etc.

It looks to be worth between $450-1000 depending on if the links are plated gold or solid.
I have a similar ladies constellation quartz (not a seamaster but same design) in stainless which I scored for $280 in good near mint order.

I do mail-in quartz service for Omega's from Darwin, NT. Usually around $150 for the 1426 if it doesnt need parts. I can also fit a NOS ETA 256.111 which is a modern version (non-omega but swiss) that is fitted when the original is cactus for $100 + labour - so essentially its the same as a service cost.

You could probably pry the back open with a swiss army knife under the lip of the case back and then buy a SR716SW battery for it.
