I was hosting this dead watch with a cracked crystal for another OF member and now I own it. Very happy with the work my watchmaker did to bring this back to life. Previous owner asked for a new crown, I have the old one. I will live with the new one for a bit but may decide to put the old one back. This was as close as my watchmaker could get. Mido parts are scarce.

Love to see vintage Mido, especially uncommon ones like that.

Very nice! As you know I'm not into chronographs but you guys are starting to tempt me.

Regarding the crown, I have a stainless steel (can't tell if this is gold or SS) version available. All Mido crowns are big but I am not informed enough to know if they can be swapped between models.

Thanks .. nothing wrong with the old one except the plating has worn off. I will have them put it back when I get time and they are less busy.

I would be Interested to know. It seems that steel case and plated cases were not manufactured by the same supplier.

When I take it back in to put the correct crown on I'll have them look. I never thought I'd own a plated watch but this case is really well done.

I was thinking that the sun pusher were always paired with the borgel case but the case doesn't look like a FB case here so I would be curious to see what we have inside :)

IIRC, the plated Multi-Centerchronos have the same markings (i.e. none) as the steel ones. The patent mentioned is the same.

What's the case size? This chronograph is smaller than any I've ever seen before.

I am happy to own it and happy to have a watchmaker capable of bringing it back from the dead. however I cannot take credit for the hunt and capture. That would be @Dre ... this would be on its way to OZ if Dre had not bagged bigger game. (Without that replaced crown of course ::facepalm1:: ... a lapse of judgement by my watchmaker. )

That’s what friends are for @Larry S, that’s what friends are for
You should ask @cristos71 about good watchmaker mistakes.....but you can still ::psy:: with this one.....

Go get your crown from your WM and send it to replateit.com

I have the crown so that is the plan. Meantime I will enjoy the watch. Not really the watchmakers fault . I think my communication was not the best. Very distracted in Q4.
