    Hello

My last acquisition, the Omega Big Blue ref 176004 who is one of the most sought after vintage Omega dive chronographs since 'it was launched in 1973 to be used at a depth of 120m. The model was based on the speedmaster markIII and had the very reliable Omega 1040. Very rare model to find in full set. It comes from Germany with its papers and proof of repair of its owners.

Pictures of the seller. I'll post mine as soon as she arrives.

    Have a nice week

    Best regards

    Georges

Why is it so thick with only a 120m water resistance?

Nice find, especially with the documentation and parts. Man, that is one Seriously TALL watch! It looks heavy. Certainly falls into the "interesting" category. Will you wear it or will it be a "safe queen" ?

Please notice the chrono movement, it has the ability to take time submerged at 120 meters.

I think collectors refer to “Pilot case” on which several Omega models where base on in the late 60’ies turning early 70’ies like the SM1000, Flightmaster, SM200, Memomatic, etc... And the MK III was one of these models with the similar case. Some pictures for the tread:

That is a well serviced watch! I don’t think I have seen so many old parts and invoices included in a sale before

Great watch! Pics are a bit nasty(look like they've been shot with one of those early no brand digital cameras) but will look forward to seeing your own photographs when it arrives.

The design is meant to look big, but it is about the same thickness as recent 3-hander Planet Oceans...

    Good Morning

My photos of the big blue Omega taken last saturday morning with an average daylight. But the main thing is there with the watch, the loads of spare parts and the three dealer stampings on the warranty book. Photos of caliper measurements included.

Wishing you a good evening and a good week

    Best regards

    Georges
