Good morning all from a rainy day from Saigon, Vietnam.

I’ve been collecting Speedmasters (only variants of the Moon-landing watches) for about 6 years now.

I was blessed yesterday with a holy grail of mine, can you guess what’s in the middle box? Haha….

Hint: It’s more special and limited than the other outer 2.

Have a magnificent day!

Blue Side of the Moon?
It’s a stunning piece, is it your grail watch?

I only collect 3-counter Speedmaster with Lemania-based chronograph movements inside. So no, not BSOTM 😉

Have a wonderful day!

Buzz Aldrin's long lost Speedmaster?

More likely a Moonshine gold.
You are very close. It’s precious metal.

Here's my guess: an ORIGINAL 18k gold Apollo 11 145.022.

Canopus 321
Bingo!!!

That Onyx Dial is so hard to capture.

But it is deep deep black and reflects light beautifully.

It looks nice! Often these materials just look so much better in person. It's definitely an under the radar piece, which is for the best considering its price tag.

It is crazy how this is not even the most expensive Speedy you can buy today… far from it in fact.

The Emerald-set Bezel, Platinum Moonwatch with 321 movement is almost 4x the price of this.

But I like the CK2915 look, render in full precious metals: Canopous gold, Onyx dial with Grand Feu Enamel on the bezel…. And 321 movement.

One thing very frustrating is, in between the time I placed an order for this piece and took delivery of it, OMEGA released a full Platinum Bracelet version of the Platinum 321.

I am a bracelet guy, and the only thing that stop me from getting a Platinum is the lack of bracelet option, which at this moment, no longer the case! Bummer!!!

Really nice range of Speedies - any vintage in your collection?
Thank you 🙏

I don’t have any vintage watches, I don’t know enough about them to splurge on their asking prices.

Plus, I like to wear my watches, modern watches triumph in robustness and serviceability.

Have a wonderful day!

You'll find that there are quite a few collectors around here that wear their vintage watches. I mostly alternate between a modern Omega, and a 1960s Gruen. The serviceability part is not really a concern with most watches. The vast majority will outlive any of us, if just a bit of care is taken. But you're right, there is so much knowledge involved with the valuation of the vintage pieces.

Thank you for posting your collection. The asking price of the Canopus 321 puts it firmly outside my purview, but I find it very attractive, all the same. If money was no object, I'd seriously consider having it.

Thank you for your advice,

Yes, maybe one day I’ll get myself into vintage watch collecting too.

You are not wrong about the retail price of Canopus 321 either. It’s not exactly what one calls: “cheap”. 😋

But still, I can argue that a mint-condition original CK2915, if you’re lucky to get your hands on 1 now, is fetching the same price you’re paying for this white gold 321.

And would you wear your mint condition CK2915 without a worry?

Stay awesome 🙏

Congrats and awesome collection of Speedys (I'm partial to the Apollo 11th 50th..stunning).......but your Canopus 321....wow....the size, the broad arrow......wish they made a SS variant with all those attributes.....
