hi, i am thinking about purchasing this seamaster.
i could really use some help, determining originality and whether i should pull the trigger
the case looks a bit polished but i am not sure.
crown looks original and i am not sure about the dial.
there are no pictures available of the movement but i will ask the seller.
the price is 600€ is that fair?
thank you very much for a great forum, i hope someone can help me.
in advance thanks for the help.

The dial is one of the special dials, I'm no expert on those but to me it looks legit. Others will know better

IMO the case has seen too much polishing, I would skip

With a better case 600 € would be OK (depending on the movement condition)

VERY nice dial. A little too polished to be a super prime collectible, but definitely a good looking watch. As noted, movement condition is important. You don’t want to pay quite that much if it needs service.

I suggest you see if the seller can bend a little on the price.

That dial is lovely.

Nonetheless, this soft case is a no-go for me, and with those extra-close pics I always have the impression that the lugs are bent... The upper ones in this case.

If you're not in a hurry and don't particularly want that dial type, you could do better for that money IMHO

Ask for mvmt. Pics and service history. If clean , offer 500 and settle for 540. Wear it and be happy. Good luck !

Just a note, this is a front loading case. If the seller is not a regular watch seller (although the lovely pictures imply he knows what he’s doing) then it’s not as simple as opening the back to get a movement pic (has to pull the crystal). I have purchased many $$$ watches without movement pics- I just assume it will need a service.
It’s like opening the hood of a car and just looking at the engine….what does that tell you about running condition?

The reason many collectors ask for movement shots is to verify that the parts are correct and it hasn’t been cobbled. The copper finish on omega movements in particular have a distinct way of aging and if parts have been swapped you will usually see it. Also tell tales like rotor rub on the inside back of the case can tell you the state of the bearings. Regardless, whenever you buy a used watch, always factor in the cost of a full service unless the seller can provide an invoice from a watchmaker stating it has been serviced. “I had my guy look at it” is not a service.
