Well first I want to say thank you to this forum and it's mods for being such an amazing resource for collectors. I've met so many selfless people here willing to spend their time and energy in the pursuit of teaching and learning about watches. I must say, it is inspiring to be a part of this community. It takes a village to raise a vintage speedmaster lover, so thank you especially to @oddboy @gemini4 @smitty190373 @MikeMan2727 @sdre @Kali77 @Spacefruit and @toddle321 for their friendship , knowledge, and patience. Also lastly a big thanks to @simonfreese who helped sort this watch for me and did a fantastic job with the restoration of the minute and hour hands. Below are a few photos I've taken today after receiving this 19.58x.xxx reference 2998-61 with radium dial (not perfect but I really enjoy the original lume aging). As a side note, I was surprised that a - 6/61/62 would come with a radium dial but have since seen several examples including this beautiful example sold by the Davidoff Brothers http://www.db1983.com/our-archive/omega-speedmaster-ck-2998-61-1963 Please excuse my excitement OF, here are some pics:
Wow your FIRST vintage and it is an amazing one. Guess you subscribe to the "Go big or go home" mentality. Congratulations!
Congratulations brother. You always collect very well and I'm glad this one brings you just as much joy as did the hunt.
This is insane. If you didn’t mention it is vintage, I would have thought it is some reissue. I believe you owe us a photo of the caseback
Sure! The lighting is a bit harsh at the bed lamp, but I think you can make out the engraving and the stepped case back.
