    Hey guys on OF

Yesterday, I received my first vintage Omega. It is actually not the first vintage Omega I purchased, but the first one I would like to keep as I returned a previously bought one with the help of other members here:
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/minutes-hand-blocking-the-way-of-seconds-hand.75482/
To start this vintage Omega collection, I have been looking for a Seamaster (non chronograph) as my budget is rather low and thought it might be good to start with a simpler watch. I found this one on Yahoo Japan's auction site and thought it was legit based on the knowledge I'd learned here during the past two or three months. I got the watch through a 3rd party bidding service for Yahoo Japan called Buyee. The pricewas about $650. Here are the pictures of it:

Signed buckle. Not sure whether it's an original or not

Movement picture and the inside of the case back from the original listing:

What I think I know about this watch:
A Seamaster 166.032 with sparkle dial
Serial No. : 31million dates it back to around 1970
Movement: Cal. 752. The non-chronometer alternative of Cal. 751

What I would like to know about this watch:
Is the watch legit? Did I overpay for it?
Does the movement look OK to be a daily wearer?
Is it able to tell whether the case is polished from the pictures above?
I know the cyclop is wrong, but I have not found one for 166.032 on the Otto Frei site. What alternative should I look for if I want to change the crystal?
Is there point to request extract of archives for this watch?

    Thank you for your help!

Have fun digging through his threads. There is more than enough knowledge to gain from those threads.

Doesn't look too bad. Case looks worn but not "polished" by the eager watch restorer.

Dial/hands/bezel look fine to me. Buckle looks original.

You may need to get it serviced. The rotor has been rubbing on the caseback due to a worn rotor bushing/rotor pinion.

Looks good to me, and it's especially nice that the case appears to have its original finish and chamfers, which are often lost on this model.

Thanks for posting the links. Those are just some amazing examples of this model! I wonder where he bought them over the years, they all seem to be in fantastic conditions.

Thank you for the reply. I have not been to any local watchmaker yet and I'm scared that the watch could be damaged by unauthorized watchmaker during the service? The only place I can think of now is the Omega store but the complete service price seems to be about $400-$500 which is almost the price of the watch. I'm not sure where to get it serviced now...

Thank you guys for the kind replies. I've been learning from this wonderful community for 2-3 months and the purchase was based on the knowledge I gained during the time. I'm happy with it and thank you for the helps!

Buckle looks legit too. Would need to see the markings on the underside, but if correct looks like the 60s/70s sun buckles that seem to be going for close to $100 these days.

A couple of things strike me as slightly odd:-
The lack of -T T- when the dial and hands are lumed

The quality of the Omega Text under the logo.

    Thoughts?

I asked in another thread about the -T T- thing before proceeding on this watch. What I think is that no -T T- with lumed hands and indices is ok? The other way around is not.
I'm not sure about the Omega text, I guess/hope it's just another font. Waiting for others' thoughts

Nice watch and the price wasn't outrageous..I don't know why cost that much to service it?? what they intend to do to it?

I think most folks in here will tell you to stay far away from Omega for a vintage service. Let people know where you’re located and they will recommend an independent watchmaker sympathetic to your watch. Wear in good health!

Thanks! I'm located in Beijing, China. I have not seen anyone based in China on the OF yet...
