My First Vintage Omega

Approx 2.5 years ago, I purchased my Omega Seamaster DeVille off Goodwill's auction website and then sent it to get serviced a few months later at a small watch repair shop in eastern PA. Below are the photos of my purchase. It fits a bit smaller on my wrist then I expected. Bought it for approx $325 and $200 to service it. Part of me wants to sell it but not sure if there is much value in selling it now vs holding on to it for a few more years?

What do you want to know?

The crown is a replacement and the dial is damaged.

I would say the watch is worth what you have put into it, maybe a bit less. It likely will not increase in value so I would not hold on to it in the hope of cashing out later.

If you like it, wear it and enjoy it.

I think your best bet is to check eBay to see how much comparable watches have sold for and go from there. Including evidence of a recent service should help you net a little more. But the chewed up lug at 7 o'clock might bring you back the opposite direction.

My advice is just keep it, wear it, and enjoy it. It's not going to increase in value and as others have said it does have some issues.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I guess I will keep it and add it back into my rotation and enjoy it.

it is a classic model from the beginning of the collection, traces of life, previous repairs not very rigorous (the crown), but which retains a nice appeal. it allows you to learn without too much expense.
in your place, I would find out how to bring the crown back into conformity, and I would continue to wear it.
if you really got tired of it, you can sell it, but the price will not exceed the amount you put in.

Sadly and disagree with some, but you will not get anything close to what you have in it.

Dial is damaged as mentioned, but also by the 1:00 index where it looks dented

Incorrect crown as mentioned

Not if distortion, but it appears as if someone bent the lugs to fit an incorrect strap width into the space

To resell

Replace the dial and hands. Have a caseworker try and press the lugs back into their correct placement

No idea on cost
