Even from these not-so-good pictures it looks very nice...would love to see some close ups to really enjoy this beauty!
BTW any one can recommend a overhaul service in LA/Seattle Area? The OSC quoted me $675 today. Should I also tell them keep everything original?(no polish/no re-lume/ keep original crown?) Thanks!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dibs Here, in OF, it is usually understood like: "Should you ever want to part with it, I'm the first in line to buy it".
Personally I would hit up Archer and send it over to him for service. It would probably be more reasonable in the long run. He's a very respected watchmaker on this forum. He would keep the watch as original as possible, using only original parts if needed.
I also notice that when I adjust the time, I have to turn the crown counter-clockwise, instead of clockwise like most watches. Is there something wrong with it?
Nope, nothing wrong. All the old Omegas (or at least, the ones I have owned) are the same. Counter-clockwise to advance the time
BTW I need one or two holes addition to the original leather strap. Should I do this or I should get a replacement and keep the original? Thanks!
Stow the original strap and you can get a nice one from here... http://www.ebay.com/sch/soulsis78556h/m.html?ssPageName=STRK:MEFSXS:MESOI&_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2654Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network This was recommended to me from a fellow forum member and have been pleased ...very good quality straps at reasonable prices. The original strap is too valuable to wear it out and when you go to sell your watch will add some value.
