So finally my big triangle has got his companion today except that the bezel insert I would love to have a little makeover or better still, if any member have a nice one lying around.

what are the options and is there someone specialize in doing so, replacing the internal insert?

I used to restore the ones that came with my watches, but I also replaced the dial and hands to match

Restoring means removing the insert. Wet sanding the back to remove the old black paint and then a fine sharp screwdriver to scrape out the old paint and luminous. Refill, clear lacquer and then black plaint

Problem is. What type of insert do you have?

I did one and it turned out, that except for the luminous markers. The rest was all painted. I sanded off the minute markers and no way to repair that. It was screen printed on.

Unless you plan on replacing everything so it looks the same. I would leave it as is

I call it a watch used as intended and would enjoy it proudly "as is". It is only original one time.

I think that bezel looks pretty darn awesome just as it is. I'd pay a premium for one that looks like that If i was in the market for that watch.

I would pay extra too for a bezel like this compared to a "fresh" one. In my opinion you should leave it and enjoy it.

The bezel looks great as it is.

If you feel that you have to do something about it I would replace the bezel insert but keep the one you have safe - do not attempt to clean or repaint. You'll ruin it (imo, of course).

In my opinion that bezel looks fine and I would keep it. It shows its age and use and appeals to those of us that love a bit WABI

Wow I think it lived an interesting life. IMHO Just keep the bezel as is, it adds a lot more character to the watch!

Yes by James Hyman, great job matching the bezel. Anyone else commissioned him as well ? I'm slowing getting use to the bezel as it is....if only it could tell me it's stories.....have a good weekend all!

Is there a bezel insert table for the variations and steps to change?

I personally like the original bezel you have on the watch, it looks superb and the age is the most important thing in these vintage tool watches, I would call in Colin Gillies (watchlovr) on this one, he is a wealth of information on Semaster 300's and been a huge help and support for me in the past.
