After long thinking about buying a vintage Speedmaster Mark II I have bitten the bullit and picked up a (in my eyes) nice example. I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but would like to hear some of your "expert" opinions. some things about the watch; it is a 31 mil serial number, original tritium dial and hands which do still glow for about 1 min and original bracelet but with a 1116 clasp. a full wind will give it about 52 hours of power and it 2 secs a day fast enough letters lets do some pics
Thanks do you think the case has been refinished, I havent seen to many in the wild but I would think not.
Much better close-ups are really needed for evaluating that... The clasp has been brushed up a fair bit, so wouldn't be surprised if the case has too. Nice watch
Thanks the original photos are found here https://www.flickr.com/photos/koenlensink/ im not able to post the full resolution. maybe that helps?
alright will see what I can do tomorrow when its light again. that citizen is my all-time favorite diver(that dial, indexes and hands are simply beautiful), found it for a steal and have since found the original bracelet. that crown is just unscrewed not broken
Nice example of my favourite speedmaster! When you see it this close up, the edge between brushed and polished is not all that perfect and maybe the crystal stands up a little too much? I dont know but maybe it has been lightly polished some time but I would not worry since the case is still thick!
I do not worry, I'm very happy with the watch! I'm just curious about what the general consensus is and if it reflects my opinions, but so far so good.
