    Why is the lume on the dial so discolored?

    I wouldn't know ,I just got the watch earlier today I thought it was in great condition.
    You realise it isn't new right?..kelly

    I just looked at it in daylight with a magnifying glass it looks good to me,must be the lighting and the cell phone camera..kelly

    It's just age. If this watch is older than say 1998 or so, the dial might have Tritium lume. I had asked about "modern patina" in a thread recently to determine how people view these dials compared to dials with similar patina on watches we are used to seeing this type of yellowing of the lume:
