I'm from the Netherlands and just bought my first Omega at an auction. I don't now which version and from which year the omega is. Attached some pictures I made. The bottom of the dial says "OM Swiss made OM". Found out this means or massif. Saw this forum and I hope you can tell me more about this omega. Would like to be a part of this great forum!

I can't help you with the specifics, but it's a beautiful watch. Welcome!

Looks like a nice solid gold 168.018 from late 1960s. Have the movement serviced and enjoy it.

    Hi

For a first Omega you may have done worse. Quite nice, What is inside? 562 or 1011? Yes OM means taht it's a solid gold dial.

Thank you all for the great reply's! Desmond told me:

Your model is a de Luxe version of the 168.010, which should have a stamp 168.014 or 168.011. The movement is probably a calibre 564, although these were produced for a short time earlier with a cal 561. I would date the watch to around 1966-67, although it may have been sold later than that. The serial number of the movement will indicate when it was first produced. When the case back is opened the serial number will be stamped on the movement and the model number will be stamped on the inner case back.

These models are 2mm larger in diameter than, say, a 168.005 and hence look larger on the wrist. The dial is very nice with Onyx inserts in the applied markers with matching black inserts in the hands. The case is pretty sharp and still shows the facets on the lugs and a clear medallion on the case back. Important that the watch is not polished and only cleaned with a jeweller's cloth, because polishing will remove the case sharpness.( a good idea to stress that when you have a watchmaker to service it)

I've made an appointment with a watch specialist. I will go there on Thursday and tell not to polish it. Are there any other tips or suggestions?

Does anyone know when the 'Om Swiss Made Om' appeared on Omega watches. I'm looking for information about or massif Omega's (solid gold), but can't find any information. And I can't find a lot pictures on the forum with the 'OM' sign. Is there a reason for? Are they very rare?

Omega used the "OM" from the late 1960's to the early 1970's. Probably to distinguish dials that were solid gold from those that were just gold colored. These solid gold dials are only found on the higher end Omegas like the Constellation.

Are the very rare? That's a relative term. There certainly weren't a lot of them made, since they were quite expensive at the time and very few could afford these "Deluxe" models. I'm sure some have been melted for gold content over the years.

I suspect that this is one of those items that could be very rare, but that rarity doesn't bring a huge premium given the intrinsic value in the watch from the gold.

In the omega box shown above in the pictures was a little sachet. There was an omega label in it (price tag). On the back there is information. But there is also an battery icon. So I think the price tag is from another Omega. If I put in the figures in Google I don't have a match. Is someone able to tell me what kind of omega belongs to this tag?

Nico Rijsman in Culemborg gets good reviews.

Ferrie Schweitzer in Heerlen is perhaps the vintage Omega man in Holland. Not cheap though.

The price tag would only be relevant if it were placed there as part of a shop sale of the watch as used or vintage. Since the watch dates to the late 60's and the tag includes price in Euros it is not original to the sale of the watch because the Euro only began circulation in 1999.

True, I was just curious to witch omega the tag belongs. I mean what kind of omega. 1456 is the movement I think.

My Connie is from the late 60's and I would like to know the story about the previous owner. Probably I will never know it.....
