    Hello and happy new tear!!
    This is my first post in this forum because I buyed recently a nice Omega watch. Here are some photos:

    20130113_001.jpg
    Its movement is Omega 671 with serial 217.....(I don't remember the rest but the first 3 digits count)
    so it was made in 1964
    20130113_006.jpg
    It's reference number is 161.014 and has a marking C.B in a semicircle

    According to the Omega vintage database this watch(with reference MD 161.0014) belongs to the De Ville series but I have seen a image of a 1964 UK catalog(http://www.old-omegas.com/pics/cat64en/p10.jpg) which says it is a Geneve. Also it has different hour markers. Also it has a nice inscription in french:
    Je taime
    +
    qu 'hier
    -
    que demain
    Janine

    So my questions are these:
    1) This watch belongs to the Geneve or the De Ville range;
    2)What means the inscription;
    3) Is all original right;;
    4)In 60s if someone wanted to add a inscription in the caseback, the Omega factory would do the job or he had to try elsewere;

    Thank you in advance

    2. "I love you. Yesterday. Tomorrow"
    3. The crown is definitely a replacement. I can't speak to the rest of the watch, however. I wouldn't let the hour markers or dial language throw you too much; 60's Omegas varied wildly in those regards.

    Either way, nice first Omega. Once you get a taste for them, your won't be able to stop! :D

    About the crown I was wondering if it is special to this watch because it was a gift. Anyway even if the crown is a replacement, suits the watch nice

    The traduction is: "I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow". A common engraving on european jewelry back then.
