    Hello,

I've just bought my first Omega! I'm just a little bit scared if it's original, the seller says that this omega has cal.712 24 jewels (no.23185241) case diameter 34-35mm. Is everything fine with this watch? I still didn't pay this item in ebay, so if it's fake I wont buy it.

Very dubious. More and better photos needed.

I asked the seller for more information, I'm pretty sure that Omega Seamaster De Ville series doesn't have cal 712.

A quick google would suggest that there is such a thing as a 712 Seamaster De Ville...

Well, I didn't found this information, can you provide me some links? Because I'm pretty sure that the cal 712 was only used in omega constellation series but not seamaster deville.

Well this thread is all "pretty sure" and "maybe not" and "I don't have a clue".

The movement number is irrelevant in this case, it will only DATE the movement.

So, you've already purchased the watch.

When you get it, open it (or have a watchmaker do that) and use the information stamped inside the caseback to determine what you have.

    or don't have.............................

Well you entered a contract to buy so you're up shit creek if you don't pay unless the seller did not disclose anything or deliberately misled you.

Where are the links to the original auction/sale?

Pretty shady move to be honest. Do your research before not after! Don't buy things on Ebay again please...

Look at the word automatic. Is it me or are the fonts dead wrong?

More likely a cal 711, I don't see anything to make me doubt that it's genuine, just uncommon.
