·Hi All-
I have been reading and learning from this forum for a few months now. My first vintage Omega arrived today 😀 . Until now, I have collected a few Rolex ( a no-date Submariner from the 1970's and a Datejust from the 80's) and my Dad's Tudor from the 1940's. Really like the way this Omega looks, and in the short time I've had it it appears to be running well and keeping time. I really dont know the service history so assuming no service in at least a long while. I believe its from the 1960's, but having trouble narrowing that down. I expected to find a clear serial number inside the case back-- I'm not sure if that number that begins "2846" is a serial number or not? The movement is a 501, based on the number on the movement ( in the photos) does that help with the dating? Was $400 too much to pay? I seemed fair to me, but maybe not-- I really wanted it... Thanks for all you all have helped me learn so far while lurking on this forum, and thanks in advance with any help you can provide on my new (old) Omega!
