Just got my first Heuer chronograph as i fell in love with it the first time i held it in my hands.

It’s a ref. 347 NR from 1938-1946 with a black gilt dial and radium lume hands (hence the reference naming).

Does anyone here know something more about the 347 reference, or know of a place other than OTD where i could search for more information?

The knowledge of Heuer’s seems to be vast from the seventies forward, but haven’t still found any for these early first chronographs from Heuer.

I posted also in the sister Heuer forum but to no real avail.

As a Omega collector i truly appreciate all the knowledge here in the forum, and would love to get more info on this one as well here, if possible.

The hands are relumed and don’t shine under UV, other than that i’m considering this as in original condition. Haven’t had a chance to measure the dial with a geiger meter.

What are your thoughts?

I thinks it’s wonderful- love syringe hands. The relume wouldn’t bother me one bit- they are well matched and unnoticeable and that’s what counts . Is the bridge and case back labeled Jack Heuer or are they sterile?

Me like!

Have you tried Jeff Stein over at onthedash.com?
I’we checked his site for this reference, and there’s some basic information there to be found. Would love to dig a bit deeper into this one.

Very nice watch, huge congrats.
What is the size ? Looks like 36mm for me.
Does it have a screwed caseback ?
Is their a number between the lugs ?
Do you have pics from the inside (movement / caseback)
Thanks 👍

Thanks for the kind comments.

Yes, it’s a 36mm, the smallest one i’we got and as i’m used to the big divers this is great change in style. Especially like it on the Nato strap as it gives the watch a bit more volume and presence.

It has a pop up caseback, and no serials between the lugs. Will get some pictures of the movement and caseback later today, now need to hurry to catch my plane.

Here are some pictures of its movement...
It’s branded Heuer on the bridge, but not on the caseback. Later versions with serial starting from at least 55xxx forward i’we seen also have the Heuer brand on their caseback.
