May I be so bold and ask what the price was? Promise I won't tell anyone else! If wearing it (and it should be worn) I would be inclined to put a leather strap on it to keep the bracelet in as nice as condition as poss. Beautiful watch and find.
Thank you for your kind comments , Only very recently acquired this Constellation is keeping good time , but as the watch is going to be a long term keeper it is shortly going for a movement only service to an Omega accredited Watchmaker . Like all Omega enthusiasts I really enjoy taking good care of my watches .
Awesome watch...good catch for sure!! I see that the text on your dial says chronometer, while others have it spelled chronometre? Did Omega use both spellings or were they spelt different depending where the watch was sold?
Actually mine has the chronometer spelling as well. I am guessing this is down to markets where they were sold.
Thank you , I always understood that Chronometre was used in the earlier years by Omega, and that the change occurred around 1959 . I would welcome correction if I am wrong.
No, the spelling was changed in the latter part of the 50's from the Swiss spelling to the English spelling of chronometer. Nothing to do with where it was sold, just to end any confusion people were having.
