My father was given an Omega watch for his birthday, from my grandparents. He can’t remember if it was his 18th or 21st.
He was born in 1949 so that would make the year it was bought for him 1967 or 1970.
He thinks it was brand new at the time but I don’t think this can be guaranteed.

It’s very plain, but I’ve attached a couple of pictures and wondered if anyone knows anything about which model or year it could be?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Chris

Nice watch! Have a watchmaker open it, take photos of the movement and the caseback. Then it should be easy (although I am certain a lot here will be able to answer already).

Funny, I would have guessed it was older, but the movement will tell.

To be honest Dan, so would I. But I’m no expert.
There is that small chance it wasn’t new when he got it...

Date seems about right, likely a caliber 600 or similar.

Lovely patina, coincidently my dad is also born in 1949 and received an Omega for his 18th birthday and about five years ago shared this information and that although broken "it's probably still in the house somewhere..."
Can I find it? Can I hell, I think he's trolling me.

Nice watch ! The hour is not positioned correctly. Not a big issue to fix when you get the watch serviced.

    Enjoy wearing it.
