I purchased this 1962 Seamaster about 6 months ago. I was looking for a birth year watch and this one really caught my eye. It was before I discovered this forum so I hope I did okay. :) What can I do to spice up the band a little bit? Is it okay to try to put a more modern feel for a band or should it be left as a classic?

    Here are some images.

    Nice looking watch!
I just bought a couple of straps from http://www.holbensfinewatchbands.com
I just couldn't stomach paying $180+ for a Hodinkee. If I don't like them I'm not out too much.

No. The hands on yours are original, hands on OP's watch are generic replacement.

Do you have any idea of the year and model, it is supposed to be from te mid 50s or early 60s, however I haven't been able to date it. It looks like a deville.

Congratulations on your find! It really is a classic.

Might be fun to put black lizard skin on this one.

Lovely piece-good find-and great condition too. I have a 60's Seamaster 600 and prefer the more authentic strap look. I bought a cheap non-padded strap but it just doesn't fit right, so if you find a good one-Holbens or otherwise, do let me/us know! Steve
