Buy the book, it might keep you off eBay for a few minutes.

Studies have confirmed that buying the book slows down watch purchases by an average of 6.7 days on previously scheduled purchases and has no affect on unscheduled purchases (the majority)

The problem is that all purchases after getting the book go up a level. Playing with $500 Seamasters isn't as fun any more.

From your keyboard to the Watch Gods iMac screen. :p

Getting that book for Christmas caused me to buy an 18ct Seamaster 321 reference 145.006 - all by my lonesome. It was the first $2000+ purchase I made based on my own judgement.

Unfortunately, my estimates may be of little use. My shipment ran into several unknown issues, causing various maladies, including a return to Zurich and then back to Texas for a second time. It was all so confounding I shouldn't hazard a guess as to what may be "usual." Though, seems like the second time around took less than a week from shipping date.

I will say that the folks sending the book were very kind and responsive during all such maladies.

Hopefully yours arrives more swiftly, and that you've the biceps to lift it upon arrival.

We really do need to try to work out a group buy or something on this thing, every time someone buys it there's another 20-30 thinking they'd love to buy one if it weren't such a pain to acquire.

    Do what I did.

About 6 weeks before Christmas, muttering to myself "boy I'd love a copy of that book, but it's just too much...I wish I could afford it :-(".
(all done within earshot of my Darlin' ;) )

A courier turned up the last day before the Christmas break with a package for me and a HUGE parcel for Annie, she grabbed it and rushed off to the spare room almost crying with joy, and it wasn't even for her!

    I know, I'm a very lucky guy.

It's only the little things that sit around, heavy things they want to get rid of.

FFS don't drop it on your foot when it arrives. Walking home from the station with mine for a mile nearly gave me a hernia.
