    Hello dear Omega enthusiasts,
my Speedmaster is getting the love it deserves and it's getting back to its former glory.
I've recently had it serviced (case has been left untouched) and after a lucky purchase from a fellow OF friend, I was able to source the 1506/16 bracelet that is time correct for my watch.
The bracelet has undergone a little bit of refurbishing and surgery (one of the links was considerably shorter than the other, but I think the artisan did a great job and it is not noticeable, but you'll tell me.

Only thing the watch is missing now is a relume of the dial, I'm not 100% sold on it yet, but would really like to see those indexes fixed, so I'll probably go with it.

Now I let the images do the talking and you'll let me know what you think of it.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'm based in Italy and I'm not that much into seeing my watch travelling, I will probably go to a great italian artisan that is 2 hours away from home.

Great watch, apart from the lume it's in superb condition. A perfect candidate for relume

The case and bracelet look great! Will you attempt to find a correct original flat foot crown as well? Good luck with the dial relume as they can be tricky to get correct. Will you relume the minute hand to match the rest?

I was told that the crown is correct for my watch, but I am very interested in understand what is a flat foot crown and if indeed it is the correct one for my reference. My knowledge comes from Speedmaster101 (great website!) but it doesn't cover all of the details. If somone could help me out, maybe with the help of MWO, it would be greatly appreciated.

I think the non flat foot crown you have at the minute can be correct for the later 105.012's, such as those with the CB case.

    congrats - love the look!!

As to relume of the dial, I'm also not 100% sold on it, but IF YOU would really prefer to see those indexes fixed, you could look for another dial. They do come up for sale from time to time.

we have the same non flatfoot crown (or rounded & semi flatfoot) which is rare for 105-012 cb66.

so far, yours is the only one similar to mine ive ever seen and in well preserved complete condition.

I would invest in a top end relume. It doesn’t have the vintage appeal at the moment that a 65 should have.

Actually, i just noticed that your crown is a bit extended compared to mine which is more diffused. Nasa redesigned the moonwatch with a new crownguard to prevent the crown (slightly hidden) from touching or interfering with the armwrist portion of the spacesuit. i have no better explanation, maybe it's the thickness of the crown.

You guys really have an eye for details!
I'm trying to find differences between my crown and the one @Screwbacks posted, struggling, but will continue to study them!
Thanks a lot for all of the information!

Differing crown heights are probably just due to variations in the crown. It's also possible that your winding stems may have been trimmed to different heights.

The difference is also the crown is replaced in the OP post being a 32 vs 24 side original small foot logo. Nothing wrong just a replacement done at service some time. Nice watch.

Heres a cb I got back from the Spa

When discussing what crown is considered correct for what reference I would highly encourage anyone to refer to the newest edition of MWO. It has very detailed information as far as exact measurements and high res photos. The shape of the Omega logo matters as well as the number of teeth on the crown.
Here is an example of a vintage flat foot crown for sale that is correct for your reference.
