https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...0139/lot-129b5dc7-7e8a-4796-b517-a8c000f62017 I have been watching this lot over the past week, and yesterday the bid went from £30, to £2600. I was thinking of bidding, but my max bid has been absolutely blown out the water. Is this really the price for a Mulco Chronograph? I have looked at similar ones which have sold, there was one on Hodinkee a while ago for 3,600 USD (about 2.5k GBP) : https://shop.hodinkee.com/products/1950s-mulco-antimagnetique?variant=17647385604 There is also Mulco Prima coming up at Fellows (date, moonphase and chrono), with an estimate 740-940 And another Mulco Prima at Phillips: https://www.phillips.com/detail/MULCO/CH080118/205 There have also been a couple on eBay, from this example selling for £337 With this example not selling at 6k What are peoples thaughts/opinions on all this? My pet theory is that the market has been influenced by the watch at Phillips, but maybe I am wrong and 2.6k is a fair price? Lucas
inverted pusher and spillman case are two interesting things for collector... i dont think the price is outrageous but really depend on condition and base on the only picture, the case seems overpolished...
The first one just hammered at £3600, off to Malaysia apparently. Edit for clarity: that is £4597 after fees/$6,600
Sounds only slightly on the heavy side to me. I've been noticing prices on "Running" chronographs taking a steep upward curve of late.
Now that the usual suspects are out of reach not surprised that the smaller brands are moving. Some are pretty nice.
Well it's been happening for quite a while really, it's certainly getting harder and harder to find much value out there these days.
There is also a third element here. A very attractive sector dial. The circled 12 and 6 give the dial real balance and is unusual. Overall it’s a very attractive watch which is not easy to find. I would only image the same watch with a different brand would cost many multiples more.
