Hi I just bought a omega constellation pie pan from ebay. Seller guaranteed that the watch is orginal but i found that the dial doesn't pass moy test. So is it redial? Thanks
Yes it's a redial - read Desmond's blog - everything you need to know about the pie pan connie and more http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.co.uk
Welcome Kvertu. If you post better (= high res) pics, there might be someone able to answer. Expect you already found Desmond's blog on this and other subjects too.... http://omega-constellation-collecto...02/its-all-about-moy-except-when-it-isnt.html
This pic is from the seller, I still haven't received yet. I also read that blog and it saids that there are some cases original dials don't pass this test. So I'm still very confused. Should I cancel my order?
Might think that is purely up to you: you seem to know your business around these subjects. You also might consider sharing pics of movement and caseback and post them here (again: high res will do the trick), so the more knowledgable will be able to work out the whole picture. I myself also read Desmond's blog and noticed him stating that MOY sometimes (...!...) fails on an original and untouched dial, but that is where my knowledge ends too.
From the picture you attached, it seems the vertical line of the crosshair is slightly slanted clockwise and doesn't cross the center of the "o". Also, the fonts seem a little thick, though it is impossible to see the details given the quality of the image. Definitely need better images.
Based on the image provided I think it's a redial. Or else some elf in the Omega dial shop pulled the Ω symbol and re-glued it 0.5mm to the left.
You know how those elves behave sometimes: a wrongly attached star, minute markers way out of line, etc....
