Movement finishing on the gold Speedmasters

I was reading this article from Robert-Jan Broer which states that the movement finishing on the Moonshine gold Speedmasters are identical to the regular steel versions.

Yet on the Omega website it claims that the movements for the gold versions have a "special luxury finish".

This claim is not made on the description for the regular models. Also it might just be my eyes, but the caseback picture used for the moonshine gold version looks to have more pronounced perlage on the mainplate compared to the steel model.

Can anyone confirm or deny if the movements used are exactly the same, or if the gold versions have superior finishing? Thanks for your time.

I believe they are the same. The old 1861 had an upgraded luxury finish version, the 1863, but I believe all 3861s are now finished to the same upgraded level.

That claim isn't specific to the MSG variants - it's saying all 3861's have a "special luxury finish"...
