If this bushy monstrosity isn't worth a raffle ticket or two, I don't know what is!

333 tickets sold so far, to 158 people... those are so incredibly good odds for a few folks, which I would love to shorten... thereby giving Movember more cash.

If you haven't yet, but would like the chance to win a watch that has an MRSP of £1,750 by buying a raffle ticket for £12.50, that helps Movember to stop men dying too young - please pick yours up here: https://www.time4apint.com/movember

Pure curiosity on my part here but...

Across all the places that I've talked about, posted, or shared the details of this raffle, it's now had more than 15,000 sets of eyes on it.

A £12.50 raffle ticket that could net you a £1750 watch, whilst doing good for a charity which does work very much in the interests of most watch collectors (there are many times more men than women in this hobby), seems like an attractive proposition.

And yet - 13 days in, there are more than 1600 of the 2000 tickets left.

Would love to know what the barrier to involvement is - with no judgement.

Does this just not appeal in the way that I hoped?

I feel pretty certain that this is the last year that I do this - Oris are no longer partnered with Movember, and despite promises last year to help get people interested in the raffle, they've made the decision in Switzerland to not provide support.

Would be great to go out with a bang, but I'm honestly not feeling all that optimistic.

Thoughts/feedback/opinions/cat pictures?

I dont think 400ish tickets sold at £12.50 is that bad tbh.

From my own point of view I bought one - but I (despite what the maths says) consider my chances of winning to be pretty much zero. So it is essentially a charitable donation for me, which is fine. It is a great cause and I am happy to support it.

If other people view it in the same vein that I do there will be a magnitude of reasons they wont 'donate'.

If your 15k figure is accurate it sounds like around 2.5% of people who have seen your campaign have donated. I have no idea if that is a good conversion rate or not for online drives like this.

Anyway, best of luck. 2k tickets is ambitious and I hope you get there.

Perhaps it is like ebay where people bidding wait until the last few minutes to put on a cheeky bid.

Could be the pandemic, making people worry about the future. In the UK there was Sober October and I am sure hundreds of other charity raising events.

I also considered this more of giving to a good cause rather than thinking I would actually win. Mostly I wanted to support your efforts without much thought of winning.

Even if you don't raise 20k. You will have raised a lot of money for a good cause and I hope you will be rightly proud of that.
I am sure you will sell many more tickets before the month is up.

What @lillatroll says about waiting until the last minute sounds right to me. I'm sure people feel like there's plenty of time until the end of the month to get the ticket(s) in. Fingers crossed you get the 2000 target.

I think a photo of you holding the watch over an eye will help drive raffle sales.

Thanks for the input chaps.

I guess I'm looking to last year - where 500 tickets went in about 4 days.

Totally agree with the points above - whatever can be raised for Movember is fantastic, I'd just love to hit the big numbers. 😗

Let's see how the month goes - whatever happens, one lucky person will win the watch, and Movember will get a sizeable donation.

I have to say, my favourite thing about being involved with Movember this year, has been interviewing the guys that the charity supports - real eye opening stuff.

Just make sure you pack it properly when you ship it to Oz.
