Many moons ago, the Super Sub Sea was a grail of mine…they rarely came on the market, and I got one, a later reference on eBay…it has some case and dial issues, but was a really cool watch. I sold it a few years back, but have always missed it.

As luck would have it, I found another one…tucked in the front of a case, half hidden, to where you could only see it if you were standing directly above it.

All I saw was a 22mm JB Champion and the unique hour hand peeking out, and knew what it was.

This watch predated the Zenith Movado merger and is ref 95-704-542, case number 125, and has some really interesting aspects to it, namely the glossy silver gilt dial, kris sub second hands, fixed tachy bezel, and of course the M95 movement.

The case retains most of its factory polish, the dial, while showing oxidation from the lume, still remains mirror gloss with full lume plots and custard patina matching on hands.

Stoked to have it in the stable.

Congrats. When I was in buying mode overdrive years ago, I was offered one of these and passed. They truly are special watches. I regret my hasty decision.

Hi,

indeed a beautiful watch - congratulations. If I have looked it up correctly, there are two variants: One with a tachymeter bezel, "T-Swiss-T" and a slightly narrower written "Movado" signature, the other with a 60 minutes bezel, "Switzerland T" and a wider written "Movado". I used to think that T Swiss T might be a service dial, but that doesn't seem to be the case?

Regards - HU

So there are two references of the "bigger" M95 Subsea, 95-704-541 and 95-704-542 (the second one is mentioned in the Phillips catalogue). Learned something again.
