·Recently, I was looking at the time-only movements in Movado's Ermeto and I noticed something unexpected. Along with the caliber 150MN, I found a couple of examples with what looked to be Cyma movements. Conveniently, Ranfft has a page on the caliber in question, which is referred to as a "Movado 5M (Cyma 234)".

The two examples with this caliber, they seem to be larger than the examples with cal. 150MN (around 38 mm by 54 mm versus 34 mm by 49 mm). This sort of makes sense, given that the cal. 5M is 26 mm in diameter, and the cal. 150MN is 23 mm in diameter.
Looking at some vintage advertisements, I wonder if examples with the cal. 150MN are the "Normal" model, and examples with cal. 5M are the "Master" model. For reference, the "Baby" size measures 25 mm by 42.5 mm (Source: https://www.blackbough.co.uk/produc...tage-travelling-watch-hallmarked-1929-wwmebb/).

I would be curious to know if others were aware that some Ermetos used Cyma 234-based movements. I would also be curious to see more of these movements, if anyone has seen other photos. Additionally, I wonder if there are examples of the Master model with Movado movements.
