Hello everyone!

I wanted to share with you all some photos I've taken of my Movado Acvatic, as well as a bit of information on the model.

Introduced in 1935, this was Movado's first waterproof watch, you could almost call it their first "sport" watch too. The waterproof cases were made by Taubert & Fils (Borgel) and came in three sizes: 24mm, 28.5mm, and 30mm. My example is 28.5mm, which I believe is the most common size. They utilized a cork gasket to seal the crown and a lead gasket to seal the screw down caseback. I've seen examples in solid gold, gold capped bezel, and steel. I've even seen some examples that deviate from the "scarab' style case completely, utilizing a more standard style of watch case.

As far as dials go, I've seen all manner of configurations: luminous and non-luminous, chronometre text, anti-magnetic text, fab suisse text, applied or printed markers etc! I've also seen different hand variations as well as sub second and central seconds models.

I can't speak to the movements, but I believe that the acvatic primary utilized Movado's Calibre 150mn movement. If anyone knows anything more about their movements, please educate me!

Anyone else own a Movado Acvatic? if so I'd love to see some photos! Also, if anybody has more information about this wonderful model, please share!

I sold this a few years ago

Very nice! Big fan of that crown, I have another Movado and a Mido that have the same one. That movement documentation is also very neat. Thanks for sharing
