1st and 2nd look like redials. And yeah, those prices are pretty stiff even after the discount

Awful. Hawking (undisclosed) redials. Rest are over polished and priced out of sight.

Thanks for pointing this out... another site noted that I will never purchase from. Buy the dealer/seller, folks.

How about that Seamaster 120? Bezel and dial look too nice to not be redial, but I am nowhere up to speed on those. And where would 39mm be measured?

Absurdly priced for us, perhaps, but fair for seasoned and tasteful "men of the world".

Does this look familiar? Sold on eBay for $1009.00 on Nov 23rd. Note that they were the only two bids. Thankfully, no one else on eBay was dumb enough to bid on that.

Brush off a few bread crumbs on the dial, take some fancy product photos with some judicious use of Photoshop. Add an ugly strap. Call it a "mint silver color dial with Arabic numerals." Wait for a sucker... and presto: 325% ROIC.

I have to say it's not bad work at all for a redial. Note the inking that I've circled......

See the reflection of light on the edges? That means it's got depth to it, which is something most redialers can't or don't do.

Brilliant work. Their business plan appears to be "there's one born every minute." I hope they choke on their inventory for not disclosing the redial.

Dennis, friend, it's time for an intervention. This recovering watch-a-holic thing has gone on long enough. A year ago, you would have been baying for blood over this redial. And you would have been right. Overinked, pseudo-aged crap. Dennis, we love you. Come back to us.

If you want to pick on sites like this I know bunches that over sell. "Dial is near mint".........ummm.....
If the budding watch collectors would only go here first.......

"Indeed, this particular chronograph is as desirable to avid collectors as a vintage Patek Phillippe or Rolex."

Can't save 'em all. Every rookie makes a few of those purchases. Me included. ::facepalm2:: You just have to hope that your 'initiation fee' is low relative to your wallet.

Hodinkee did a talking watches with the MOTW owner/founder, one of the few I thought unworthy. Hard to watch Goldberger and Paramico and then him....

Hard to know with some of these dealers if they're really ignorant or if there's some sort of sell-your-soul-to-the-devil mentality that takes hold once you start listening to your own voice in the reverb chamber.

MOTW makes their Hodinkee moment in the spotlight abundantly clear... there's not a damn watch-related page I could click on that did not prominently feature the video clip. Fire up that echo chamber!

The guy at classicwatch is the same. High prices (he might have a lot of overhead?) and every watch is either "Excellent" or "Near Mint". Not sure which is supposed to be better. In his defense, some very cool watches :D

I have to disagree with you redpcar, if you're indeed talking about Zaf and classic watches. I've bought from him nad find his prices- particularly on military watches- competitive, and I think there's hardly a better JLC source.

    Zaf is a class act.

Dealers ask high prices. Fine. Just be honest about what you're getting for that price.
