I want to buy this motorcycle.
It's a DUCATI monster 1999 600cc Has done 39.000 km
The seller is asking 1600 Euros.
Is it a good deal?I am a newbie on motorcycles and don't know many things about them.
This looks in a very good shape.

This is a motorcycle for somebody who likes pulling Ducati motors apart, not for a new rider and definitely not for somebody who doesn't know much about motorcycles.

Have you thought about starting off with something like a Honda (reliability, ease of use, nice to ride)?

Something like this maybe?

https://imoto.al/cmx500-rebel-shqip/

But if it was my choice and if I lived in Albania I'd get one of these.

I am a very careful driver actually.I know how to ride a bike but I am no perfect.I like the Honda but I think is expensive to buy that in new condition and in Albania there are not a lot of used motorcycles to choose from.
The second one I saw it before a week or so ,live.I asked the rider and he told he bought it for 12.000 euros.
I have not that kinda of budget for a motorcycle.

Hi, I am not so familiar with Ducs but you can check here:

https://www.mobile.de

This is - as far as I know - the biggest selling platform of cars and motorcycles in Germany. You should find some models there to compare with yours and get a basic feeling for the price level. In case you buy from a private seller I would invest some additional money for a technical check. In Germany we have for example TÜV or DEKRA - other countries should have similar companies. They can easily find out if there was an accident in the past. Good luck with the purchase and always drive safely 😉

Haven’t owned any Ducatis before, so I can’t say anything about them, but I have had plenty of Japanese bikes and can definitely advise those. Also never had problems with my BMW 😀 If the price for this duc is too good - then perhaps should investigate why is that.

The price is more or less the same compared to other Ducatis and the one I see it looks like the owner has invested on that bike.

Yeah that's correct 😀 ... I prefer mobile.de because in most cases seller are posting their ads on both platforms.

So if you are located in Germany you really should think about a technical check at TÜV or DEKRA before you close the deal.

Come back when you can ride a motorbike, or even a scooter.

(I heard epic scooter riding runs in the family 😉).

My tightarse brother that rode he’s Vespa from Melbourne to Sydney to save having it shipped 🤦

I laughed my head off when he rocked up all face dirty after his 1000km trip on one of these

I need some help fellow bikers. My VFR 750 had some electrical problems. I finally found a skilled former Honda mechanics, who found that the starter relay (or solenoide, not sure about the word in english) is dead, but also the cables with the connectors the coming from the wire harness. I have to order all the parts myself but the cables/connectors are not available detached from the whole wiring harness, so I have to find an adaptable solution or the part used.
Problem is I don't find similar part online, and I don't even know what to type in google to find some, after hours on the internet I'm still not sure. Maybe someone here could give me some information ?

Here is the picture of the needed part (with the cables).

Great bikes....

40,000 km and 18 years old Duccatti... make sure you know how to work on it. They have finicky valves on them. They need someone that knows how to work on them.... and it’s fairly often.

Thanks for the comment but can you explain a little more simpler because I do not understand what you mean. These bikes has problem with the valves on their engine? And they need someone that knows how to work on them(I don't get it)??
