As most members know I'm a fairly recent forum member. I'm intrigued to know what is 'generally' regarded as the most valuable collectors Omega out there in a similar way to a Penny Black postage stamp in the UK. This may have been asked before so I apologise if it has; if not bring it on!
For modern watches, it's probably the Omega Tourbillion series, started in the 1990's: http://www.ablogtoread.com/omega-tourbillon-watches/ For the vintages, I couldn't even begin to tell you which ones were the most valuable. As far as rare vintage Omegas, I'd have to say that the Omega SynchroBeat would likely be the one. I think these were released only in the USA. They were a commercial flop and had some mechanical problems, so Omega recalled them. Desmond did a very nice write-up on the SynchroBeat a few years back: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3u13dwkff9g3bua However, it's probably not the most expensive vintage Omega known to exist. That would take more research than I have time for right now. Hope this helps, gatorcpa
Darth Vader 861's go for serious cash but certainly not megabucks. Broad Arrow Speedmasters go into 5 figures easily too.
The best condition speedmaster 2915-1 One in near mint condition will easily fetch 6 figures. Present record holder value wise is the platinum grand luxe constellation.
