Went to Manchester yesterday, buy I wasn't allowed to look at anything shiny.

We had to go into a jewellers though when we went to the Trafford centre as I had to pick up my Rado from service. While we were there I thought I'd try my luck and suggest to the other half that I try some watches on. My plan worked.

However, I still can't decide what to buy. What do you think of the options?

I'm not sure whether the last photo indicated a yes or a no decision! Looks more like a no to me, the trick is to walk past a shop that sells stuff that women like, she will get a notion in her head that she can have something if you get the watch. Your chances of getting a third watch are pretty slim so go all in and get the Rolex.:)

Sounds like a plan to me.

The GMT was my favourite and not the most expensive. At £5.5k though it was double the price of the black seamaster which was my second favourite and three times the price of the blue seamaster (even though this one was the quartz version).

The Aqua terra just didn't look like a £4k watch, and the sub was massively overpriced.

I'll go against the grain and say the black Seamaster, the dial in those things is something else, beautiful watch.

Sorry, but those Pepsi Rolex's just remind me of a child's watch. All it needs is Mickey Mouse hanging off the second hand plus Donald Duck and Pluto on the face to make it complete.

I had the same decision between the Rolex and Seamaster. I couldn't justify the cost and love my black Seamaster, very understated but oozes quality!

The GMT Master would be my choice. As far as the Mrs. I always find it easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Quartz Semester. James Bond wore one of those. Enough said. Good value for money in my mind.

Makes perfect sense to me. You can also justify the GMT purchase for Mrs. showing how much GMTs have appreciated over time.;)

GMT is the best option I think. It would be even better if it was Vintage?!

Another vote for the GMT. I've had the new ceramic Seamaster and a Pepsi GMT and the Seamaster is long gone. The GMT is a keeper. Just one of the best proportioned and designed watches.

Sub would be my choice, Iconic, The GMT would likely be my 2nd pick, although the pepsi is not my first choice..

GMT as well, even though both of the Seamasters do look nice!

There isn't a loser among your choices, but I'm also a huge GMT fan. The Pepsi was my grail watch for 30+ years, finally acquired earlier this year. IMG_2121.JPG I've had it almost six months now and I get a thrill every time I strap it on. If you do choose the GMT, ask about its service history. A full Rolex service will run you $500 US or more, depending on what needs replacing. Waterproof seals, adjustments to the movement, internal cleaning.

I get that. The Pepsi color scheme is an iconic one but it's not for everybody. My other daily watch is an Omega Speedmaster- classic black dial on stainless steel, white hands. About as vanilla there is in terms of colors. The Pepsi just speaks to some folks. But hey, that's what makes a horse race!
