Wow that's a beaut @outta_gas! I wish mine had the droop S and r in Speedmaster like yours.
Thanks! It was definitely a quest. Took me 8-10 months to find this one. So long that I can't really remember exactly when I started looking. It is also one of the 1000 in the numbered series. The other thing that I lucked out on was that it came on the 1450 bracelet, which I really like. Not perfect though. I had to size it with Uncle Seiko links and I need to find some gen ones.

Great choice, the hesalite and the display caseback are an awesome combination.

I didn't really have the option of trying on a vintage watch, but after trying on new Speedmasters at an Omega AD, I nearly decided that I no longer wanted a Speedmaster because of the way they felt with the new bracelets and the size (my collection is mostly restored vintage Citizen watches from the 70s and these are smaller than today's standards). What I didn't know until I started looking into it more seriously was that there are many good aftermarket bracelets that you can get. The bracelet on mine is a gen 1450, but I really lucked out in finding a watch that was on one. If you want fully vintage, this won't work for you, but if not, check out Uncle Seiko. Be interested to see what you arrive upon.
Late reply as I've been away on a vacation to Egypt 馃槑
I probably won't have a realistic chance of trying out any of the vintage bracelets either. So best I can do is to try similar fitting bracelets. I'm not a purist, and do agree that many of the aftermarket bracelets look great. But for my Moonwatch I do want an original bracelet when I go with a vintage version like Ref 3592.50.

Hi All, I'm after a bit of clarity around what Im dealing with here. Seller says its a 3592.50. Unsure of year and has no records, extracts etc.

Is this a Copper movement 863?

It sure looks like it... Could very well be a first generation 345.0808. If so, the four-digit serial on the caseback should also be engraved between the lugs.

I believe that this is the Cal 861. See: https://millenarywatches.com/omega-caliber-861-complete-gude/

And I think the watch would then be a 345.0808, but I am not an expert on the differences in the ref numbers. It seems that sometimes they are used interchangeably so I am not sure what is correct. See: http://www.db1983.com/our-archive/omega-speedmaster-3450808-first-series-1986

In my opinion, these are really cool!
