Moonwatch: which suits a smaller wrist better? (Black pre-2021 ref. vs White post-2021 ref.)

Hi everyone, I’d like to hear your opinion on the wrist presence of the new Speedmaster Moonwatch white dial (ref: 310.30.42.50.04.001). I currently own the previous black dial version (ref: 311.30.42.30.01.005), which I bought a few years ago. While I really like it, I’ve never worn it much because it always felt slightly too large for my wrist, which is around 6.2–6.3 inches.

Recently, I had the chance to try on the new Moonwatch with the white dial, and I was really impressed. It seemed to fit my wrist much better, likely due to the shorter lugs and the new, lighter bracelet. However, I also noticed something surprising: the white dial seems visually smaller than the black one. My guess is that, on the black model, the dark dial and bezel blend together, making the watch appear larger, whereas on the white version, the contrast between the white dial and black bezel breaks up the design and makes it look smaller.

Has anyone here had the opportunity to compare both models side by side? Do you share the same impression?
I’m considering selling the black version and getting the white one, hoping I’ll wear it more often since the black one currently stays at home most of the time.

Thanks in advance!

I have a tiny wrist (see my avatar and WRUW posts) and three 3861 speedmasters. Other than taking out almost all of the links, they feel just fine on my wrist. Yes, I have the white one and a black one. Plus a FOIS.

Black makes you look slimmer.
There’s no need, I’m 5’9’’ tall and weigh 132 pounds… 😂

That makes sense to me. I've always found a watch with contrasting bezel and dial looks smaller than one that is the same color for both dial and bezel.
