Moonwatch Only book.... 4th edition?

"About" 4 weeks ago, I saw a "Pre-sale" order form for a 4th edition of the Moonwatch Only book . I believe on Amazon. ?
It was scheduled for Oct 2025, then January 2026. ( if memory serves me correct) Does anyone know why it's seemingly disappeared?
I was thinking of buying a "3rd edition" but willing to wait if the 4th is still in the works.
Any info is appreciated.
Paul

Uncertain for the moment, IMHO it should be reworked in two volumes set in a carboard cassette as "Moonwatch Only" is a " Hefty & Heavy " volume, so two separate books would be more practical:
Book 1 = Speedmaster history and all details (dial, bezel, bracelet, etc ...) = now already 260 pages
Book 2 = Speedmaster chronograph models = now already 340 pages !
.
Also maybe a slightly larger chapter on " Spacefarers and their Speedmasters " 😉

Interesting thought
I just received my volume 3 with intentions of it being a nice evening read ,but once I got it I quickly realized it's a book for a study session and not used as a " practical" reference book. Fantastic book but too bulky for a bedtime read.

Same situation here...
Does anybody know something of a 4th edition coming soon?

Has anyone heard any further news on this? I am itching to order a copy, but if the 4th edition is coming out in a matter of weeks it seems a shame to order the current version.

This has to be the best book on watches ever made? Excited to hear what the 4th edition may hold.

Well, taking the excellent Seamaster Only (SMO) as a proxy, we know two things.

1. There’s more detail to be added to MWO 3rd edition, like case shape details which are shown very clearly in SMO but largely ignored in MWO. Also more detail on component manufacturers, etc
2. Timing. I suspect it might also take a while for MWO 4th edition to appear, knowing SMO has been a work years in the making…

There hasn't been many new additions or new stuff since the last edition. I'd probably just buy the 3rd edition now and enjoy yourself

I've been waiting and waiting for the 4th edition, but the prices for the 3rd edition have been changing wildly throughout this past week on Amazon, so I finally caved and just ordered one for $210 cad.

Now I hope the 4th edition doesn't come out for years lol

I just know as soon as I cave in and order it then the new one will be announced.

Mostly hoping they split it into two books so it is more readable.

In that case, please order it today! Take it for the team! Thanks in advance. 😉

Mmm. I wonder if ordering it and immediately cancelling would be enough to provoke the release gods into action…

Is it true that the 3rd edition has essentially no info on the cal 3861 watches? I understand that the focus of the book is on vintage Speedmasters (and the reason I would buy it) but it would be worth it to me to wait for the 4th edition if it was updated with the newer models.

I have a feeling it is coming soon… Moonwatch Only has been removed from the two main bookstore’s websites here, but they still have Flightmaster and Seamaster only available.

And it no longer appears in the Google sponsored results when I search from it.

Or it is just a coincidence!

flightmaster is always written with a small " f "
Furthermore it's a lot of work, especially with the very latest reverse Panda releases...

Very mysterious! Haha. I am not good at the waiting part.

Are you involved with writing the book? As I have really enjoyed reading your historical Speedmaster posts.

Hello,
I contacted the publisher of Moonwatch Only (watchprint) and asked the following question:
“Will Moonwatch Only be reissued?”
Here is the reply I received:
“Yes, we plan to release a revised and expanded edition, at the earliest by the end of this year.”

Very true. The book current edition has been in and out of my Amazon cart many times but so far I have stayed strong!
