on offer on the 'Bay as a 1969's 18k Constellation -from Las Vegas (where they do like to have a little gamble)

-but I wanted to use this watch to ask a question too

we have info from Omega/Desmond on when references we created - cal/case types and what cases should have which cal -but there are many crossover areas
Eg There was recently a very late 561 and 564 posted

has anyone found/created a reference list on the longevity of case types/movement calibres?

now for your entertainment and in repayment in advance for your information - the dodgy watch:

not too bad a 14393 yellow 18K case - bit polished
re-done dial
mismatched crown
three different coloured hands (?!!)
pink Omega symbol and date surround
yellow indices
-and to top it off - a silver star.....go figure - doh!
turn it over -lovely medallion
and then find a 564 movement inside -with a carefully hidden serial number
-surely it would have had to have a time machine to be in there from new....? (hence the question above)

However, with the different colours of the parts and the fact that the bridge doesn't have the 'adjusted' text - the inclusion of the cal 564 reference number means that the the movement is an assemblage too

How many watches went in to make just this one....?? I think I'm up to at least 8 if you count all of the different parts
I thought the Cowboys were based in Dallas.....

I don't have answers to your questions here, but very much appreciate the post and your description of the details of the problems with this watch. Very interesting and look forward to hearing others' input.

 

You could be starting a trend 'frankin challenge'. Post pics of a watch and the number of issues you think there are. Then, see how long it takes for the forum to list them, spot ones you have missed and guess the price.

 

Actually someone already did that a little while back

As a learning exercise
