The aquaterra from skyfall, identical to its bigger brother but it’s 38.5 mm. Beautiful watch

I guess it would depend on which Bond watch... I think I have them all correct below. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Goldeneye - 2541.80
Mid-size version - 2561.80

Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day - 2531.80
Mid-size version - 2551.80

Casino Royale - 2900.50.91 (PO 45.5mm with strap); Seamaster Professional - 2220.80
42mm PO version with strap 2901.50.91; Mid-size of Seamaster Professional - 2222.80

Quantum of Solace - 2201.50 (PO 42mm with bracelet) - no midsize version I'm aware of

Skyfall - As noted above, Aqua Terra - 231.10.39.21.03.001 - this is the midsize version; he also wore the 42mm Planet Ocean 232.30.42.21.01.001... 38mm version of the PO is 232.30.38.20.01.001

Spectre - Aqua Terra - 231.10.42.21.03.003; LE Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial - 233.32.41.21.01.001 (no midsize version I'm aware of)
Aqua Terra midsize is 231.10.39.21.03.002

So I guess smallest out of all of these is the Aqua Terra 232.30.38.20.01.001 38mm?

Yes, and it has a wonderful wrist presence. If you want to minimize size further try a leather strap .

it’s a stunning piece ant at 38.5 a very classic look and fit.

Oh, good question!

Sorry OP, I just made an assumption on that part and went with the screen-worn ones.

Some of the mid-sized ones are, technically, noted as a little smaller. For instance, Omega's product sheet has 2551.80 listed as 36.25mm. But, on your wrist it could look/feel very different.

Some considerations: I've never seen one in person but I understand the 39mm Railmaster from the mid-2000's wears pretty large and a lot of people wind up tracking down a 36mm (in fact, @fskywalker did that just recently and did some nice comparison shots here on OF). In another example to consider, the PO from Skyfall is 42mm but is/was available in 38mm as mentioned above. But, I bet being rated to 600m it's going to be thicker than the Aqua Terra, so even though on paper it has a similar case diameter, it would wear much bigger (sorry, I don't have the thicknesses of the two).

Hard for me to effectively compare them, not having them all in front of me, but it would really come down to what you find to be a better fit - plus, is it a diver you're after? Or more of a dressy-sports watch? If you're looking in the 38mm range though, I will echo what @Nobel Prize said above, the Aqua Terra is a stunning piece; very classic. The blue is beautiful. I have one of these. 👍

Sorry, edit to my above... out of the screen-worn Bond watches, the Aqua Terra is the smallest as @Nobel Prize mentioned (I realized I may have just totally missed the actual point of your question 😁). Sorry for any confusion on my part.

I was hoping for limited edition, or something that had the 007 logo on it, but I'm thinking now there aren't any in the 38mm range? I guess I would have to go for screen worn to get the smaller watch?

Yes, specifically a mid size version of a screen worn.

Or in the case if that aqua terra that’s the one worn at 38.5, while on the next movie he wears the 41 mm version

If you want a watch with Bond markings then you will have to compromise a little as they aren’t available in particularly small sizes. Be careful what you wish for though since many are a little tacky to say the least. It may be better to look at worn models as noted above

Unless your wrist is tiny, like 6.5” or less I would give the mid sized SMP models a miss. They are indeed 36mm but the thickness of the bezel steals an awful lot of dial real estate leading to a tiny dial and stumpy hands. This is less of an issue with the 36mm or 38mm Aqua Terra which has more dial vs bezel. If you are after something light and slim which wears well on a smaller wrist I would look seriously at the full size SMP Bond 2531 or if you can stretch the Bond link slightly, the 2254 or 2255 which is the same watch with a different look. These are incredibly slim at 11.5mm and the curved bezels mean they wear very well on any wrist. The same applies to the quartz versions, more so since they are fractionally thinner. Every development of these has added thickness so you will need to look for an early SMP for something truly slim. The current watch is 2mm thicker than the originals.

Other than the Railmasters which look great but have no Bond link, I personally find the AT range a little meh so will skip those here. Planet Oceans start off rather thick and upright with the 2500 versions then get even thicker with the later models until they feel like boat anchors. A 2201 (42mm PO) is a lovely thing but might not be for you if you really do have dainty wrists. That would be my pick of the POs ( there are 45mm models too) unless you can find a desirable Liquid metal LE. More recently they have sold a 39mm ceramic bezel version which could be worth a look but I suspect it will feel bigger than 39mm due to the thickness.

I have owned all of the above at some time. My wrists are around 7.25” and find the full size SMP pretty much perfect. I tried a mid size for a while but didn’t look back once I swapped it for the bigger one.

My wrist is 6.5 inch and for me the SMP 2220. or 2531. are fine. Wearing on a nato does make them lighter. The problem tends to be the height, 14mm is too big for me.The best price of advice is try on as many as you can and see what feels right.
A Rolex Sub is 40mm is a good watch the 14060m and has the same visuals as the old 5513. Could be an option?
