Hi, just looking for people with some Omega knowledge, so hopefully you won't mind me posting asking...

The pic attached is a vintage Omega I inherited from my grandad. I believe it may have been purchased in New York in the 1950s.

I am not selling just wanted info. I just can't find another pic of one with the face the same colour. Anyone with knowledge or can offer advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also looking for genuine or close to strap, if someone could point me in direction for that?

And if anyone knows someone in North East England who does servicing...

Thank you in advance.

I like the cut of your grandad's jib.

omega 2639 ? you would have to open it to know the reference.
the caliber is certainly a 30T2, very robust, precise and easy to maintain.
it's a very pretty dial and the first gold-plated watch that inspires me !

It won't have a model name, but it MAY have a reference number. If so, the number would be inside the case-back. There will also be a serial number on the movement which will permit an estimate of the production date.

Your grandfather's watch is great!
The hour and minute hands are not as correct as the crown.

Whenever I see a 30mm watch with a dial like that I always want to know what the movement number is.

this is so great, and you also have family story behind it. I have old "RIGI" from my grandfther and it will be always in my collection.

From the look of the dial, I would say this is a 1940’s style, so if your father bought it in the 1950’s it could have been a used watch at that time.

The serial numbers of the movement and case will give us more information.
