    That was one bugly watch. Beautiful renovation. Really nice.
    To my mind franken is cobbled up to pass as something else. Modded is altered to suit the owner and as long as any changes in ownership include disclosure of the mods (barring a situation where modifications are obvious to any involved) it's still cool.

    Honestly not seen anyone do anything like that as a disclosed mod to a Rolex but you see a lot of it in the Seiko forums and after saying that, this is the best mod I've seen. Great taste.

    I agree, and my pov is similar ... if disclosed no harm done etc...

    I guess where things might get hairy is down the line ... e.g. an "uncle" buys this watch, uses it for 10 years, keeps it for another 10 in a sock drawer ... then unexpectedly dies in a freak bestiality accident ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enumclaw_horse_sex_case ) ::facepalm1::

    ... and Peter, the nephew puts it up on ebay as a one-off prototype Rolex did because his uncle worked for Nasa or Boeing...
